Richard Alt has served as Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Investment Counsel since 2009, leading the firm through a period of sustained growth while reinforcing its commitment to independent, fiduciary advice. As Chair of the Investment Committee, he plays a central role in guiding portfolio strategy and maintaining the firm’s disciplined, research-driven investment process.

Richard works closely with a select group of clients, developing tailored investment strategies aligned with their long-term objectives and evolving financial needs. He earned his degree from the University of Dayton and has been actively involved in the nonprofit community, serving on multiple foundation boards, including Ashtabula County Medical Center and St. Paul’s Church Foundation. Prior to Carnegie, Richard held investment roles at Roulston & Company and Greenleaf Capital Management in Cleveland.

After raising four children in Cleveland Heights, Richard and his wife, Pam, now reside in downtown Cleveland and maintain residency in Florida. He is a member of Red Ledges Country Club in Park City, Utah, as well as the Bond Club of Philadelphia, the Union Club of Cleveland, and the Cleveland Skating Club.
