About the CFA Designation
The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter is a prestigious professional designation established in 1962 and awarded by the CFA Institute. To earn the CFA charter, candidates must successfully complete three sequential six-hour examinations over a period of two to four years. The CFA Program covers a broad range of investment topics, including ethical and professional standards, fixed-income analysis, alternative and derivative investments, and portfolio management and wealth planning. In addition to passing the exams, CFA charterholders must have at least four years of qualified professional experience in investment decision-making and commit to abiding by the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, reaffirming their adherence annually.
